Barber AI: Haircut Try On · Last updated July 24, 2026

Barber AI lets you preview haircuts on your own photos. This policy explains what happens to your data when you use the app.

Face data

What we collect. The photos you add to the app (a front photo of your face, a side and back photo, and haircut reference screenshots) contain images of your face. These photos are the only face data the app handles. Barber AI does not perform face recognition, does not extract faceprints, facial geometry, or any other biometric identifiers, and does not use face data to identify anyone.

How we use it. Your photos are used for exactly one purpose: generating your haircut previews and the personalized styling tips that accompany them. They are not used for advertising, analytics, profiling, or AI model training.

Where it is stored. Your photos are stored locally on your device. There are no accounts, and we do not keep copies of your photos or your generated previews on our servers.

Sharing. When you request a preview, your photos are transmitted over an encrypted connection to our server, which passes them to OpenAI's APIs to create the preview and tips. OpenAI is the only third party that processes your photos, solely to fulfill your request, subject to OpenAI's privacy policy. Per OpenAI's API data policy, API content is not used to train OpenAI's models. We never sell face data or share it with anyone else.

Retention. Our server does not store your photos or generated images; they are processed in memory to fulfill your request and returned directly to your device. OpenAI may retain API content for up to 30 days for abuse monitoring, after which it is deleted, per its API data retention policy. On your device, photos and previews are kept until you delete them.

Deletion. You can replace or remove your photos at any time in the app, use the app's Reset option to erase everything it stores, or delete the app, which removes all photos and previews from your device. Because we keep no server-side copies, there is nothing further for us to delete.

Purchases

Subscriptions are processed by Apple. We use RevenueCat to manage subscription status; RevenueCat receives an anonymous identifier and purchase information from Apple, subject to RevenueCat's privacy policy. We never see your payment details.

What we don't collect

The app has no accounts, no sign-in, and does not collect your name, email address, contacts, or location. Your onboarding answers stay on your device.

Data deletion

Deleting the app removes all photos, previews, and answers stored on your device. Because we keep nothing server-side, there is nothing further to delete.

Children

Barber AI is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.

Changes

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this address.
